Tag/Day 1.3 auf der/on GRAND PRINCESS in Southampton, England

Unsere Kabine wurde bei der letzten Werftaufenthalt erst neu gebaut. Zuvor war hier das Casino, das jetzt verkleinert wurde. Links geht es zum restlichen Casino und rechts zu den Kabinen.



Our cabins were recently added during the last drydock-stay. Before there was part of the casino which was resized and became a little smaller. To the left you get to the remained part of the casino and to the right you find the cabins.

All cabins in this area had names: E.P. Hillary from New Zealand was on an expedition on Mount Everest.



Die Kabinen in diesem Bereich haben alle Namen: E.P. Hillary aus Neuseeland war auf einer Expedition auf dem Mount Everest.

MARCO POLO ist eigentlich ein Schiff der Konkurrenz Cruise and Maritime Voyages... (Ha Ha Ha).

Hiram Bingham III discovered Machu Picchu, and when we were in Honolulu he was attracted to our attention.

Jacques Cartier kennen sicherlich die Kanadier besser, da er den St. Lorenz-Strom als erster untersucht hat.

We were accommodated in Vitus Bering, and you know due to the Bering Strait between Asia and Alaska. As we are booked for 2013 from Tianjin to Vancouver on DIAMOND PRINCESS, someone picked the most perfect cabin which fit us.



Wir sind im Vitus Bering untergebracht. In Deutschland eher Behring geschrieben und nach ihm ist die Behringstraße zwischen Asien und Alaska benannt und da wir ja 2013 von Tianjin nach Vancouver mit der DIAMOND PRINCESS fahren, hat hier jemand die perfekteste Kabine gefunden, die zu uns passt.

To our surprise, we did not just get one window without obstruction but two. Dorothy made a dream become true. Just for fun, I wrote that I am curious to end up in one of the Window Suites which were built in May... and it happened in reality.



Zu unserem Erstauen haben wir nicht nur ein Fenster ohne Sichteinschränkung sondern zwei. Dorothy hat einen Traum wahrgemacht. Spaßeshalber hatte ich ihr geschrieben: mal gucken, ob wir nicht in einer der Window Suites landen, die erst im Mai eingebaut wurden... und es passierte.

What we appreciated very much. You just arrived and your steward Jim came by to introduce himself and giving us information and asking for our individual wishes.



Was wir sehr schätzen. Kaum hat man die Kabine betreten, kommt auch schon unser Steward Jim vorbei, um sich vorzustellen, uns einzuweisen und uns nach unseren besonderen Wünschen zu fragen.

Wonach ich bei Celebrity vergeblich bislang erfolglos betteln musste: Zwei Etuis - für jeden Bewohner ein eigenes Etui.

You are so busy when you are staying in a suite... all the obligations like the exclusive lounge for suite guests between 17:00 hrs and 19:00 hrs in One5 Nightclub.



Immer diese Verpflichtungen, nur weil man in einer Suite wohnt... z. B. die besondere Lounge für Suitenbewohner zwischen 17:00 Uhr und 19:00 Uhr im One5 Nachtclub.

Die Marke für unsere Reise... Nur das Sammelbuch haben wir gar nicht...

Kleine konstruktive Kritik, weil ja auf der STAR PRINCESS der Einbau der Window-Suite Kabinen bevorsteht: Die Steckdosen sind hier auf der Seite. Der Rasierspiegel auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite: also Verlängerungskabel nicht vergessen...



Please accept this information as supportive as you want to add the Window-Suites on STAR PRINCESS maybe one day. The power outlets are on one side of the bathroom. The shaving mirror is on the opposite side of the bathroom, so you need an extension line.

Same problem if you do not want to use the jacuzzi bathtub but the shower... the towels are hanging at the other end to the shower cabin.



Gleiches Problem, wenn man die Whirlpool-Badewanne nicht nutzen will und nur Duschen will... die Handtücher hängen an der Wand am anderen Ende.

Hier an der Glaswand wäre es viel praktischer, so kämen beide dran: Duscher und Bader.



Having them here at the glass wall would be better. Both users can get them easily: shower users and bathtub users.

Fantastic: The drawer which also can accommodate larger kits.



Fantastisch: Die Schubladen, in denen sogar die größten Kulturbeutel reinpassen.

Und zig Goodies...
